FAQs
A Long-Term Social Visit Pass (LTSVP) is a pass that allows certain family members of an Employment Pass holder (principal) to live in Malaysia for a period ranging from six months to five years.
The LTSVP is typically issued to family members who do not qualify for a Dependent Pass, including:
- Common law spouse
- Parents and parents-in-law
- Biological or legally adopted children aged 18 and above
The main difference lies in who qualifies:
LTSVP covers:
- Common law spouse
- Parents / parents-in-law
- Children aged 18 and above
Dependent Pass covers:
- Legal spouse
- Children below 18 years old
- Dependent children of any age with disabilities
The LTSVP validity follows the duration of the principal’s Employment Pass.
However, if the applicant’s passport expires earlier, the LTSVP validity will follow the passport expiry date instead.
