A Quick Guide To JTK License Renewals

In Malaysia, private employment agency licenses, also known as a JTK or APS licenses, are valid for two years from date of issuance, after which they must be renewed.

Renewal requirements

To qualify for a JTK license renewal, the agency must simply continue to meet initial registration requirements for their license category, namely:

  • paid up capital
  • directorship
  • business premise, and
  • company details

Proof that an agency meets these requirements is done through required documents.

Required documents

The main JTK license renewal document is known as Borang 2 and must be completed and submitted along with these supporting documents:

  • Latest company SSM profile
  • Latest annual return
  • Bank statement
  • Copy of current JTK license
  • Copy of Local Authority (PBT) license / temporary approval letter
  • Copy of MyKad / passport and shareholding details of individual shareholders
  • SSM profile and shareholding details of corporate shareholders

Note: The business address in your SSM profile, license, and application form must be identical.

Renewal fees

JTK license renewals incur two fees:

  1. A processing fee of RM100
  2. A license fee of RM500

This of course doesn’t include additional charges if engaging license application service providers such as MISHU–but we don’t charge that much 🙂

Submitting your JTK renewal application

Due to the high-risk nature of dealing with manpower, renewals for employment agencies must be done in person at the nearest Labour Department office.

If there are no issues, your renewal should be processed within thirty working days and will be valid for another two years.
