- renewal periods
- required documents
- fees, and
- where to renew your license
Note: We’ve written this for MOF license renewals without category changes or it would end up as a 10-page novel–get in touch for advice tailored to your needs.
Also, those who prefer official sources are welcome to refer to MOF’s full guide (bear in mind it covers everything and is only available in Bahasa Melayu).
Let’s begin.
MOF renewal periods
There are two time frames to keep in mind:
- Valid MOF Account: Three months before expiry
- Expired MOF Account: One year from expiry
An expired MOF Account reverts to a Basic Account which is limited to contracts of RM20,000.
For the next twelve months, this account is still eligible for MOF Account renewal, but past that point, you’ll need to submit a new MOF Account application.
Required documents
First and foremost, all renewal submission must include a Declaration Form and relevant licenses based on categories applied for.
Other than that, document requirements vary by business entity.
Sdn Bhd
- Memorandum and Articles of Association / Section 14 / Form 55 (if limited by guarantee)
- Form 32A / Section 105 / Section 11 (if applicable)
- latest Annual Returns
- copy of owner / director identity card(s)
LLP
- Certificate of Registration
- latest business bank statement / deposit slip
- copy of partners’ identity cards
Enterprise
- Form D/E*
- SSM Form
- latest business bank statement / deposit slip
- copy of owner’s MyKad
Basically, these are the same documents needed during your initial MOF Account registration, only updated to show ongoing compliance with MOF requirements.
Renewal fees
As of February 2025, you’ll be paying:
- RM50 for the application
- RM400 once the application is approved
- RM120 for a digital certificate
Upon approval, your digital certificate is valid for another three years.
Of course, these are only official MOF fees and don’t include additional charges if you engage an superlatively excellent and stupendous license application service provider like MISHU!
