Where MACP collects royalties on behalf of music creators, two other licensing bodies regulate the use of copyrighted music in Malaysia:
- Recording Performers Malaysia Berhad (RPM) representing original performers, and
- Public Performance Malaysia (PPM) representing record labels
There is a high chance that in addition to an MACP license, you will also need licenses from PPM and RPM, so be sure to do your due diligence.
